It’s that time again, Summer is just around and the cornerand we are all geared up to be a little more healthier and active. We’ve put together a list of our favourite health-conscious dishes that will help you reach your fitness goals.

 

1.  Whole Wheat Parathas or Dhalpuri
You can still enjoy your carbs! Switch towhole wheat and add colourful veggies for balance. Our whole wheat roti optionsare made with 100% wheat grains and cooked with less oil but still retains thatdelicious roti flavor.

2. Bhaigan Choka
Baigan or eggplant as we say here in the west, is a high-fiber, low-caloriefood that is rich in nutrients and comes with many health benefits. Fromreducing the risk of heart disease to helping with blood sugar control and weightloss, eggplants are a simple and delicious addition to any healthy diet. Ourchoka is roasted and seasoned with the best Caribbean spices to give you a punch of deliciousness inevery bite.

3. Tomato Choka
Tomatoes are definitely among our favourite fat-fighting foods. Tomatoes havebeen found to reduce inflammation and water retention in the body, as well asreversing leptin resistance. Grilled to enhance its flavor and with just theright amount of spices, our tomato choka is a great addition to you quinoa,brown rice or other grains.

4. Veggie Delight – tofu, carrots and peas
Carrots are naturally low in calories and full of nutrients that can help your weight loss efforts while peas have higher levels of protein and are a good source of dietary fiber, Vitamin A, iron, folate, thiamin, Vitamin C and manganese. This is a great dish to be eaten with our whole wheat paratha or even whole wheat tacos.
